Architecture and Archaeology Group
In October Keith Barton told us that he and Sheila had enjoyed leading the A & A Group for many years - almost since the beginning when the Keyworth U3A was launched nearly 10 years ago!  However, for a number of reasons they need to relinquish their role from the end of this year to give themselves more time for other activities.  In consequence the Group needs to find a new Group leader.  Peter Harding, Groups Coordinator

Message from Keith and Sheila Barton
Thank you to all those who have supported this group over the last 9 years, we hope you have enjoyed it, and that it might continue with new leadership.  We have written a brief history of the Architecture and Archaeology Group from the launch in 2009 to the present, it can be read on the A&A webpage.  Keith and Sheila Barton

The next meeting of the SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY and RESEARCH (STAR) GROUP will be held on Monday 7th January 2019. The Session will be led by Ekbal Hussein, Ekbal will be giving us a talk called:

This talk will compare and contrast global trends in earthquake fatalities and aim to extract common themes that exacerbate the impact of earthquake hazards, and consider where and why these turn into disasters.  Full details on STAR Group webpage.  Chris Mason

On Monday 3rd December STAR Group will be holding a Christmas Quiz at 2.00pm in the Methodist Church.
You can play as either an individual or as a team but the teams must be limited to no more than three people in a team in order to restrict the advantage gained over those playing as an individual.

The questions will be a mixture of Scientific/Technology based but with a Christmas twist and prizes will be given at the end of the session.

This session will be split into two halves. The first part will be the Questions. Then we will break for tea/coffee and Christmas bites. Then the second half of the session will reveal the answers and prize giving.  Full details on STAR Group webpage.  Any member of Keyworth & District U3A is welcome to come along.  Chris Mason
