Monthly Meetings Arrangements
Monthly meetings are held in the afternoon on the fourth Tuesday of each month. The meetings are held in the Methodist Church, Selby Lane. The meetings start at 2:30 pm and usually involve a speaker together with information about U3A activities.
The doors are open at 2:00 pm for members to meet, have refreshments, look at the notice boards and visit the Group tables. If you are interested in joining you are welcome to come earlier at 1:45 pm.
Keyworth & District U3A have purchased a defibrillator to be installed in the entrance hall of the Methodist Church for use in an emergency when someone is not breathing after a cardiac arrest. Voice commands guide any helper through every step of the procedure. A short YouTube video shows the defibrillator in use. Follow this link to watch the video.
Monthly meetings Programme
Please note that the talk on 27th March will now be given by Dennis Apple on 'The Mitford Sisters'. He was previously the speaker for 26th June. The original speaker for 27th March was Peter Barratt on 'The life of Suffragette Alice Hawkins' (the speaker's great grandmother).

Advice on Online Courses
The Third Age Trust has
created a
New National Website designed to help
groups get
the most from the new courses and other resources now available to
large numbers of people on the internet (there is an acronym
for
such courses and resources - MOOCS - Massive Open
Online Courses).
The website has lists of available courses and has case studies from U3A groups across the country as well as suggestions for websites with good online resources.
Within the U3A the aim should always be "Uniting Third Agers" so the main attraction of MOOCs is as a means of promoting discussions in a live group.
Follow these links to the website:
