About the Group
Objective
To provide organised cycle rides for our u3a members who enjoy the
local countryside and wish to cycle for pleasure, health and friendship.
Type of Cycling
Leisurely pace using minor roads, designated cycle ways, cycle trails,
suitable bridleways, canal and river paths.
Cycle Rides
Cycle Rides are held as follows:
- On the 2nd Wednesday of each month
- On the 4th Wednesday of each month.
If you wish to join the Cycling Group you first need to be a
member of K&D u3a. Then contact the Group Leader for your name to be added
to the Group circulation list.
Cyclists are reminded that they ride at their own risk and are responsible for their own personal safely

Distance – usually between 20 and 35 miles.
It is normal to have a lunch time pub or cafe stop or a packed lunch
may be taken if preferred.
Refer to the Cycling Programme for meeting points and start times.
Cycle transportation may be required for rides which start some
considerable distance away from Keyworth.
Recommended Equipment
- Cycle Helmet
- Visibility Jacket
- Wet weather gear
- Pump, puncture outfit, spare inner tube, and tools
- Drinks, food etc.
Medical Form
To help deal with an emergency situation, cyclists are encouraged to
carry a Personal Medical Form containing details of next of kin, any
medication taken, known allergies or ongoing medical conditions etc.
Medical Forms for this purpose are available from the Ride Leader.

The ride on 25th February was a 26 mile route with lunch at the Neville Arms, Kinoulton

November 2021 Lincolnshire
The ride on 5th November was a 32 mile route with lunch at the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa.
