Singing for Fun
About the GroupWe meet every third Wednesday of the month at 2pm in the Methodist Church .and are one of the largest groups in the U3A – regularly having a minimum of 40 members who enjoy singing.We are not a choir – you do not have to be able to read music to join, as we sing from words only, projected onto screens in the Church. Our 2 hour session has a break for refreshments halfway through the afternoon and we enjoy singing a variety of traditional/folk songs, songs from the shows and popular songs from the 1930's through to the present day. Each month we learn perhaps a couple of new songs to add to our already vast repertoire. We have performed on numerous occasions locally, including the recent Christmas Tree Festival at the Methodist Church. (See photo below) :  There is no restriction on numbers, so if you enjoy singing, and would like to give us a try – come along one Wednesday afternoon (nominal charge) and you will be made very welcome – and will make lots of new friends.
